Secret Little Hack |
Skip the Wait at Clayton's Busiest Spots with the "Johnston County Market Timing" Trick
Most people flooding into Clayton on weekends hit the Farmers Market on Saturdays right when it opens, creating a bottleneck at the most popular vendors.
The insider move is to show up 30 minutes before it officially closes.
Local vendors — especially the produce and baked goods tables — would rather cut you a deal or throw in extras than haul product back home.
Regulars in the know call this the "end-of-market sweep" and routinely walk away with twice the goods for the same spend.
Pair this with parking behind the old railroad depot side streets off Second Street rather than circling the main lot, and you shave another ten minutes off your trip while everyone else idles.
It is one of those Clayton rhythms that only reveals itself once you have lived there a season or two — now you have it on day one. |
