Princeton will honor its military veterans on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with a community ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in downtown Princeton.

The annual observance begins at 10 a.m. and is organized by the Princeton Woman’s Improvement Club.

Veterans, family members, neighbors and visitors are invited to gather for a program recognizing those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The Johnston County Visitors Bureau's event calendar confirms the November 7 date and 10 a.m. start time.

A local ceremony with a personal message

The guest speaker will be Todd Massey, whose background includes both military service and community leadership.

Massey served in the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010, including two tours of duty in Iraq.

He is now lead pastor of LightWay Church in Smithfield and serves on the board of directors for Street Reach.

The speaker and program participants were identified in the October 28 announcement by Johnston County Report (JoCoReport).

Young people help honor veterans

The Princeton Boy Scouts are scheduled to take part in the observance, along with Tippy Toes Dance Studio and other musical performers.

Their participation gives younger community members an opportunity to help recognize veterans from Princeton and surrounding Johnston County communities.

Organizers have not released a minute-by-minute program, so visitors should arrive before the announced starting time.

The focus of the morning is gratitude, remembrance and recognition of military service.

Why the gathering matters

Veterans Day is observed nationally on November 11, but Princeton's local ceremony will take place four days earlier, on Saturday.

That weekend date offers a convenient opportunity for families to attend together and for local residents to show support in person.

Unlike Memorial Day, which specifically honors military personnel who died in service, Veterans Day recognizes all who have served in the armed forces.

For some families, the occasion is a chance to thank a parent, grandparent, spouse, neighbor or friend whose military experiences may not often be discussed.

Practical details for attendees

The event is scheduled for the Veterans Memorial in downtown Princeton, North Carolina, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 7.

The visitors bureau lists 503 Dr. Donnie H. Jones Jr. Boulevard West as the downtown event address.

Anyone unfamiliar with the memorial's location can check the official visitor event listing for the address and event contact information.

Because seating, parking arrangements and rain plans have not been detailed publicly, guests may want to confirm any special needs with organizers before arriving.

The published event contact number is (919) 936-2842.

The Princeton community events calendar also lists the ceremony among the town's upcoming activities.

An invitation to the entire community

Whether attending to support a loved one or simply to say thank you, residents will have a local opportunity to honor the men and women who have worn the nation's uniform.

The ceremony is a reminder that the history of military service is also part of Princeton's own community story.
