Downtown Clayton welcomes its youngest ghosts and goblins for Main Street Trick-or-Treat on Friday, October 30, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Clayton Parks and Recreation is hosting the free event for preschool-aged children and younger.
Families can begin at Horne Square and walk toward Town Square, collecting treats from participating Main Street businesses.
Costumes are encouraged, and the daylight schedule offers a comfortable introduction to Halloween festivities for little ones.
Town staff will help families cross streets safely along the route.
Representatives from Clayton Fire, Police, and the Library will also join the celebration.
Once families reach Town Square, games, music, activities, and a petting zoo keep the fun going.
The afternoon also gives families a chance to discover local shops and restaurants that help make downtown Clayton special.
For young children, a walk filled with friendly faces and colorful costumes can become a favorite fall memory.
Parents should bring treat bags, comfortable walking shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.
The town has announced temporary road closures near Main Street, so drivers should review parking and traffic arrangements.
Families should keep young children close and follow event staff instructions.
The festivities arrive a day before Halloween, giving the holiday weekend an early start.
When: Friday, October 30, 1–3 p.m.
Where: Main Street, from Horne Square to Town Square.
Admission: Free.
