Golf Tournament Supports Kenly’s Carolina Aces Youth Baseball |
An October 23 fundraiser at Cardinal Country Club in Selma |

Kenly families have a new way to rally around young ballplayers this fall: a Friday afternoon on the golf course.
The Carolina Aces Golf Tournament is scheduled for October 23 at 1 p.m., with play at Cardinal Country Club in Selma.
Although the course is in Selma, the beneficiary is the Kenly-based Carolina Aces youth baseball organization, making this a Kenly community story with a nearby venue.
A golf outing with a baseball purpose
The announced format is four-person super ball, with room for 36 teams.
Prizes and a $10,000 hole-in-one challenge are part of the announcement; golfers should ask the organizers about eligibility and challenge rules before registering. See the tournament announcement and registration guidance for details.
The club is at 363 Parrish Memorial Road, Selma.
Registration information is available through the Carolina Aces organization, rather than through an ordinary course tee-time booking.
The fundraiser is intended to help offset equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, travel and player development costs.
The goal is to make competitive baseball more affordable for participating families.
Turn interest into a workable plan
If you would like to play, start by finding three other golfers and choosing one person to handle communication for the group.
Before anyone pays, confirm the entry fee, what the fee includes, the registration deadline and the accepted payment method directly with the organizers.
Ask whether carts, lunch, practice facilities or other extras are included; those details have not been independently confirmed for this notice.
A 1 p.m. start does not necessarily mean arriving at 1 p.m., so ask when team check-in opens and whether players need to attend a briefing.
Also confirm whether the tournament is still accepting teams before rearranging your Friday schedule.
With a limited field, an announcement is an invitation to inquire, rather than a guarantee that a place remains available.

Keep the destination straight
Put the Selma course address into your directions, even if you first hear about the fundraiser through friends in Kenly.
Share the same address and start time with everyone on your team so nobody heads toward a different course.
Allow time for the drive, parking and check-in, and check the forecast before packing for the afternoon.
Comfortable golf clothing, water and sun protection are useful preparations, but the course and tournament organizers should provide the final word on dress and equipment requirements.
If weather threatens, check for an organizer update instead of assuming either a cancellation or a rain date.
Ways to help beyond playing
Not every supporter needs to be a golfer.
If you would prefer to help in another way, ask Carolina Aces whether there are opportunities for donations, sponsorships or volunteer assistance.
Those options should be confirmed directly; this story does not promise that a specific package or volunteer role is available.
See the directions to cardinal country club for details.
Sharing accurate event information with a friend who plays golf is another straightforward way to draw attention to the fundraiser.
Keep the beneficiary, date and actual course location together when passing the notice along.
Save the date, then confirm your place
For Kenly neighbors, this is a chance to connect a recreational outing with support for youth baseball.
Friday, October 23, at 1 p.m. is the time to save, and Cardinal Country Club in Selma is the destination.
Contact Carolina Aces for registration details and current availability before making a commitment. |

Youth sports families have uniforms, equipment, travel and tournament fees coming at them all season. A fundraiser like this can take some pressure off while giving local golfers a good afternoon out. I hope the Aces get a strong turnout.
Four-person super ball makes it a lot more approachable for people who don’t play every week. Get a few friends together and have some fun with it.
I’m not a golfer, but I can get behind raising money to keep kids playing baseball.
Cardinal Country Club is a good nearby location for a Kenly fundraiser. I like seeing communities work together on things like this.
Really glad to see the Aces doing something like this. Youth baseball programs around here need all the support they can get. Uniforms and travel alone cost a fortune.
Does anyone know if they're doing individual registration or strictly teams only? My usual group is short one guy this fall and I don't want to miss out waiting to find a fourth.
Do they still have openings for teams? With only 36 spots I’d think this could fill up before October 23.
The $10,000 hole-in-one challenge should make one hole pretty interesting.
October 23 is a Friday afternoon though. A lot of people are still at work at 1pm. Wish they had done a Saturday so more folks could actually play.
Travel ball gets expensive fast, so anything that helps with equipment and tournament costs can make a real difference for families.
A $10,000 hole in one contest sounds fun but I'd read the fine print on that one before getting too excited. Those things usually have a lot of conditions attached.
Golf helping youth baseball. That works for me.
Love that the money goes toward keeping costs down for families. Travel fees and tournament entry for youth baseball adds up fast. Good cause.
Cardinal Country Club is a solid choice for this. Decent layout and easy to get to from Kenly. Hope they get all 36 teams filled up.
